In Air Traffic Management (ATM) people deliver safety, yet the safety assessment process for ATM demands relatively little consideration of the human element of safety, focussing instead on equipment design and specification. This presentation describes the collaborative approach of the SESAR transversal areas for Safety and Human Performance in bringing together the two approaches.

Andrew has worked at Eurocontrol since 2009 working in SESAR and supporting the European safety culture programme.
