Introduction to ergonomics and human factors

Human Factors Engineering by the University of Michigan. This two-week human factors course concerns the design of systems, products and services to make them easier, safer and more effective for human use.

PG Cert in Ergonomics (Human Factors) by Loughborough Design School. A course aimed at individuals who want a broad ergonomics/human factors education.

Human factors in the workplace by ABB Consulting. A flexible 3 day training course providing a sound grounding in the fundamentals of human factors and their application in both operations and design.

Ergonomics in Practice by Human Applications Ltd. This 3 day course is designed to provide delegates with an understanding of ergonomics and provide them with a range of tools that can be used to promote safe working.

Introduction to ergonomics by HSL. This 5 day course provides non-ergonomists with an understanding of workplace ergonomics in relation to health, safety and productivity in an industrial setting.

Further Human Factors by InterAction of Bath Ltd. A 2 day course to gain a working understanding of human factors.

Applied Industrial Ergonomics by System Concepts. A 2 day course on improving health and safety and productivity in an industrial setting.

IOSH Management of musculoskeletal disorders by Human Applications. This 6 hour course provides companies with an understanding of the basic principles of causation and avoidance of MSDs.

Behaviour Change: Improving Health and Safety Performance by HSL. This 2 day course provides health and safety managers with an understanding as to why workers take risks.

PG Cert in Applied Ergonomics (Distance Learning) by University of Nottingham. This 1 year course will provide you with a broad overview of the discipline of ergonomics and practical guidance for applying ergonomics techniques.

Office ergonomics

DSE Assessor Training by DSE Scotland. A comprehensive 1 day course which provides you with the skills and knowledge needed to carry out effective DSE risk assessments.

DSE Workstation Assessor by enricoSmog. This 1 day course is designed to provide DSE assessors with a structured and holistic approach to DSE assessments.

Assessing Display Screen Equipment by System Concepts Ltd. This 2 day course provides a grounding in legislation, supporting standards and best practice. It also gives tips on practical ways to conduct assessments and rectify areas of concern.

Display screen equipment risk assessment by Human Applications. A 2 day course on how to complete DSE risk assessments and identify the hazards associated with the workplace.

Display screen equipment workstation assessor training by Ergability. This course is designed to enable the attendees to better manage DSE related risks and competently perform initial level DSE assessment.

Manual Handling

IOSH Getting to grips with manual handling by Human Applications. A 2 day course for line managers to identify, prioritise, assess and offer solutions to manual handling risks.

IOSH Skills in manual handling training by Human Applications. This 5 day course is a follow on from IOSH manual handling risk assessment course, and helps line managers to deliver appropriate risk based training within their own organisations.

Risk Assessor & Key Trainer course in handling and safe movement of people & other loads by DFH Ergonomics. This 5 day course is designed for all those who want to be able to teach others to move people safely.

Healthcare

PG Cert Advancing Human Factors in Health and Social Care by Teesside University. A course that will provide you with a broad overview of the discipline of Human Factors and experience of its practical application in your workplace.

PG Cert in Ergonomics in Health and Community Care by Loughborough Design School. A course aimed at patient handling advisors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other health professionals who want a broad ergonomics education.

PG Cert in Human Factors and Ergonomics for Patient Safety by Loughborough Design School. A course aimed at those who want a broad human factors education with a focus on aspects concerned with promoting patient safety in all healthcare sectors.

Conducting a practical ergonomics assessment in industry by Attwood Leighs Ltd. This 2 day course is for health professionals and physiotherapists to gain an understanding of how to perform a basic ergonomic assessment in the workplace.
