Membership benefits
Being a member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors will help you advance your career whatever stage you’re at. We have a package of membership benefits just for you.
Work towards achieving Chartered status and demonstrate to your peers, employers and clients that you have committed yourself to your career and its development. You can use the title ‘Chartered Ergonomist & Human Factors Specialist’ and the post-nominal C.ErgHF. If you’re just starting out in your career, you could become Chartered within 4 years of graduation! You will need to be a Registered Member or Fellow to be eligible for Chartership.
You can get unlimited online access to 7 leading journals including Ergonomics and Applied Ergonomics. You will also have access to an archive that goes right back to the very first issue of each journal. That’s access to a total of over 1500 journal issues and more than 15,000 papers. See the latest titles in each of these journals.
Save many times your membership subscription fee by taking advantage of special discounts and guaranteed best rates on lifestyle, travel, insurance, business products and services. Our new discount scheme offers genuine deals and dedicated support. Find out more about this discount scheme.
Our membership magazine, The Ergonomist, will be available for you to read online as soon as the issue is ready. Be the first to read about jobs, articles, news and views. You can access back issues online too. Find out more about The Ergonomist.
If networking and knowledge sharing are important to you, we provide you with latest news about events and meetings that allow you to do just that. Get together with other members informally at free, local, organised talks, demonstrations and visits. As a member, you can make substantial savings on standard non-member rates at all our own larger events. For example, you could save around £100 when you book a place at our annual Ergonomics & Human Factors conference. Find out more about all events .
Become part of a team by volunteering to join a working group, or a committee or nominate yourself for the CIEHF Council and help us all move forwards. You could learn about the workings of our organisation, influence our decision-making and gain lots of new contacts. You could represent the CIEHF on external bodies or comment on government consultation documents and white papers. You could write pieces for publication in The Ergonomist. All good for CPD and your CV. Find out about the opportunities for volunteering.
