About the organiser

Jo DaviesJo Davies is a Director of ESE Associates.

“I have been working in human factors for 35 years mainly in aviation research and design. I worked in the design teams for Tornado GR1 and F3 in the 80s and became the only female civilian to fly in both Tornado Variants. In the 90s I was the Farnborough Cockpit Group Manager responsible for both research and Harrier Project support. I was the UK Industry representative for NATO AGARD Aeromedical Panel and RTO Human Factors and Medicine Panel for 9 years and received their Excellence Award in 2001.

I have worked for ESE Associates Ltd as a Director/HF Consultant since 1999 which has a broad customer base. Most recently I have produced a series of human factors/CRM training videos which I enjoyed making in conjunction with the CAA and major airlines. See www.caa.co.uk/monitoringmatters and www.caa.co.uk/humanfactors.

My longevity in human factors had enabled me to build a long list of contacts in many fields which has proved most useful in setting up regional group meetings. I have been involved in the running of the Southern Regional Group for about 20 years and recognise the value and importance of networking.”
